Diamond Dance Studio Policy 2020-2021

 

Welcome to Diamond Dance Studio! Our studio policy will help provide a structured learning environment.

 

Class Attendance, makeups, and holiday closures- Attendance Policy:

Each dancer will be required to attend their dance classes weekly.  If a dancer is injured, it is required that they observe class until they are able to participate again. Observing class will not count as an absence. Absences should only be taken if needed.  Regular attendance allows your child to grow and learn as a dancer. Attendance is important as we prepare for our big May show. Absences can be excused for unexpected circumstances, or dance related opportunities. 

 

Holiday Closures: 

The studio will be closed for the following holidays: Labor Day (classes start the day after Labor Day), Thanksgiving week, Christmas Break, and Spring break.  Dance Class will follow the Seminole ISD schedule. Dance classes maybe canceled due to bad weather.

 

In the Studio:

Please always be on time to your class(es).  Follow class rules and always be respectful to the teacher and others. Only teachers and students are allowed in the dance studio, except for Studio Showcase days.  No regular shoes allowed inside the dance studio. Don’t wear dance shoes outside! No food or drink (other than a water bottle with a lid) in the dance studio. Water bottles and snacks are permitted in the Lobby. Dress code must always be followed. Be ready and prepared to learn and try your very best.  Students are encouraged not to leave the studio once class has begun. Please have your child use the restroom and assure they are not thirsty or hungry when coming to class. Restroom breaks will be available if needed (especially for young children) and water breaks will be allowed if physically necessary. Parents are welcome to stay in the lobby during class, stay outside the studio, or leave and come back to pick up.  If you stay in the lobby, please keep younger children as quite as possible and all other noises and distractions minimal. Children not attending class need to always be supervised by a parent. We ask that parents of 3 and 4 yr. olds stay on the property during class in case your young child needs you. Children 3-6 years old will not be able to leave the dance studio unless a parent is in the lobby to pick them up. If they are permitted to go out to the parking lot, a parent needs to inform the teacher.  Discipline problems in class will be first handled respectfully by the teacher. If it continues, the parent will be notified. Class placement is originally based on age. However, after teacher’s observation, your child may be moved to a different class level. Proper level placement is important to ensure each child will be able to grow and learn at their best. Please label all dance attire, especially shoes, with the child's name. Diamond Dance Studio reserves the right to refuse service at the studio or admission to the recital.  Any behavior by a dancer or parent deemed inappropriate by Diamond Dance Studio staff, will result in immediate dismissal. Absolutely no bullying will be tolerated.

Injury/Accident Liability Release and Photo Release:

Diamond Dance Studio is not responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen personal items on the property or at the auditorium.  This includes vehicles in the parking lot. Diamond Dance Studio is not financially responsible for any physical injury that may occur in the studio, on the property, or at the auditorium. By agreeing to our policy, you waive, release, and discharge Diamond Dance Studio from any and all liability from accident or injury.

By enrolling your child in classes, you allow for Videos and photos to be taken for studio use only such as advertising, Social Media, Diamond Dance Studio website, etc. All  videos and photos will be for the professional historical/advertising use of Diamond Dance Studio, and for promoting child and family memories.

 

Fees- Tuition Fee:

Tuition is monthly, and due at the beginning of each month.  A $15 late fee will be applied if your tuition is not received by the 15th of each month.  You will be emailed a monthly statement, with a link to your “parent portal” which allows access to your account to pay online.  For your convenience, you may select monthly autopay. If you sign up for autopay, tuition will be charged on the 1st of each month to the credit card on file. Cash, personal check, and credit card are accepted at the studio.  You do not have to use the same method of payment every month. Please make checks out to “Diamond Dance Studio.” A receipt is emailed for online payments, and available upon request at the studio.  You may pay for more than one month at a time. Prorates only apply for registering later in the month. No tuition refunds or credit for missed or dropped classes.  If a class is dropped, your tuition will change the following month. If class is added, your tuition will change when added, but prorated if it is after the first week of class in the month. If tuition is unpaid for two months, your child will be dropped from classes and performances.  If your child has been attending class, and no payment has been received by the end of the month, your credit card on file will be charged for the balance of your tuition and late fee for the month.  If your child has a circumstance that does not allow them to participate in class, you are required to pay tuition if you wish to keep their spot in class.  Exceptions can be made for any serious long-term illness or injury. Students with injuries are required to observe class until they are ready to participate again.  Please keep us informed about any injury, illness, or circumstance that may occur. Monthly tuition is the same for each month. Monthly rate: $55 for first class. $25 for each additional class. Tuition is the same amount monthly regardless of holidays or missed classes.  May tuition and late tuition from past months must be paid in full to participate in the recital in May. 

 

Costume Fee:

It is required to purchase a costume for your child to perform in the recital.  Costumes are $75 each. The Intro Tap/ Ballet combo class will be $150 (two costumes) Costumes will not be ordered until payment is made.  In order to have a costume for the performance, you must pay for your costume(s) when costume fee is due. Diamond Dance Studio assumes no financial responsibility for alterations or lost costumes.  Once the costumes are handed out in class, you are responsible for your costume. There are no exchanges or refunds for costumes. If a dancer cannot participate in the recital due to not meeting the attendance requirements, dropping class, or for any other reason, there is no refund for the costume.  They will be given their costume.

Ticket Fee (no recital fee):

Our studio showcase in December will be at the studio. It will be free of charge, no costume required.  The end of the year recital information will be announced. There is no recital fee. The second half of May’s tuition will be applied in place of recital fees.
